Before GTM.io
Before joining GTM.io, James Kahn founded, built, scaled, and successfully exited a technology services business, carrying full accountability from inception through to sale.
James was the Founder, CEO, and Managing Director of Idea 11, an Australian cloud and digital transformation consultancy serving mid‑enterprise commercial and government customers. Over more than a decade, he bootstrapped the business, scaled it through sustained growth, and led it to a successful exit, remaining involved at board level following the transaction.
Under his leadership, the business was recognised multiple times for growth and performance, including repeated appearances in the AFR Fast 100 and CRN Fast 50. James led company strategy, sales, product development, and the executive leadership team, operating across both commercial decision‑making and delivery execution.
Earlier in his career, James held senior consulting and pre‑sales roles across Australia and New Zealand with software vendors and consulting firms, designing and delivering complex technology solutions. He has worked with customers across aviation, defence, finance, government, mining, manufacturing, SaaS, retail, and professional services. His background spans hands‑on engineering, solution architecture, sales engineering, and advisory work, giving him an end‑to‑end understanding of how technology businesses operate and grow.
James holds degrees in Computer Science and Information Systems and maintains strong technical depth across modern platforms, with particular interest in cybersecurity, AI, data, infrastructure, and software development.
